Minix 1.5 was my second exposure to a unix-like system, after SunOS,
and it ran on my 8088-powered XT, using the segment registers to
separate processes.  (The only reasonable use of Intel's segment
registers I've ever seen.)

Version 3 from a couple of months ago runs nicely on bochs or qemu.
It looks like it really does live up to its lightweight claims.  Aside
from that, I haven't had a reason to explore it further.
