Thanks for your sugestions but the ram is new also the hard drive.
I have 2 hard drives one with xp is 80gig
the other empty is 1.8
It tries to instal on the small drive Is it too small?
I would prefer the bigger one but am scared to partition it myself.
At the moment I have wiped it off the drive and ready to try again. It 
will also only instal partially with text mode.
