[plug] On reboot the whole volume dissappeared!

Last night I added another 300G (western digital sata) to my myth box -
it now totals ~660G on a single LVM2 partition.

It created fine, was added to the existing LVM volume ok, and the
existing reiserfs was resized and fsck'd without an error.  On reboot
the whole volume dissappeared!

No error messages that I can see in the logs or dmesg.  Is >600G viable
for the kernel, reiserfs and LVM?  I cant see anything in the docs that
says this is not possible.
