Hi all,

I'm still learning my command line and am having a bit of a problem with
file permissions in Ubuntu 6.06. ATM it's running dual-boot with Windows XP
Pro on my Compaq Presario B3800 laptop.

Because I wanted to share files between both OS's, I set up a FAT32
partition that both can read/write to. I also changed the "My Documents" in
Windows to point to "Josh's Documents" folder located on the FAT32
partition.

Ubuntu mounts the partition automatically, but I can only read/write files
in the root directory of the partition. I get a "permission denied" message
trying to change anything under the "Josh's Documents" folder.

I tried sudo chown-ing the directory but that still told me permission
denied. Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance,

Josh Fletcher
