My experience is that the CPU overheads in actually shovelling IO data in/out
of NForce chips is pretty horrible.

My last exposure to nforce was in some Sun desktop machines which were being
(ab)used as servers; the iowait CPU time for the SATA disk IO was pretty
freakishly horrible..
