The suggestion from Pia last night went something like this: "newbies do
web pages and not e-mail, we need to be friendly to newbies, therefore
we should set up forums".  This was, er, not universally well-received...

However, I did like her suggestion of holding just a single PLUG event
every month - a brief welcome followed by two talks happening in
parallel, one with a more technical bent and one with a more
introductory flavour.  I believe the committee (i.e. Mark and Patrick
:P) are pursuing something along these lines - stay turned for an
announcement!
