MM mentioned it to me in conversation a few weeks ago (no need to guess 
which pub it was :-)  He was quite dismissive of it saying that it was 
the early ppp code and that it was likely gone from the kernel by now.

I too have contributed to the kernel when in 95 I started the port to 
the MIPS 3000 arch DECstation.  Most of that code has already gone, with 
int-handler.S no doubt disappearing sometime soon :-)

Such is the life of Open Source, and Linux in particular where egos 
reign supreme. </cynicism off>
