Hmmm ... 1GB/month, 512kb/s.  I make that 9 minutes a day.
If you switch to 256k, you'll be able to use it for 18 minutes :-)

Why worry about the speed if you can't use it?
You shouldn't notice any real difference in interactive web use.
(especially with Adblock) - at least I didn't on ADSL.

But you DO have mobility. Doesn't that count for a lot?
