DD-WRT also now runs on any x86 computer allowing any old PC to become a 
router with all the same capabilities.  A PC also allows you to add as 
many LAN and Wireless cards as you might need for more complex setups.

So it's completely configurable whilst also giving you a GUI to get it 
up and running fast.
