I use the Epson V30 scanner with Debian lenny. It needs a proprietry
driver (unfortunately). The driver is avaliable at:
http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/scan/DL1.do
Using this driver the scanner is (AFAIK) fully functional.
