[plug] EveryDNS down - alternatives?

The EveryDNS free DNS hosting appears to be down, and google tells me it 
has happened before, due to DDoS attacks.
So it looks like their multiple servers are not quite redundant enough.

What is a good alternative/supplement ?
Is there any problem listing nameservers from two (or more) 
organisations with the domain register?
Can I have two of them configured as primaries? Its a bit
hard to make the new one a secondary while the primary is down.

The first thing I need to do is get the MX records up.
