Leo,

You are my hero!   It works!!! 

All i did is change the Modem line to /dev/ttyUSB1 and add the 
appropriate credentials... and away it went (after a couple of false 
starts.... but that is typical in this neck of the woods....).

If you are ever passing through Katanning, give me a shout....  I owe 
you a beer (or whatever it is you prefer)...
