Funny you mention that, because I recall my concurrent programming
class at UWaterloo where we used an in-house-built extension to C++
called μC++[1]. The lecturer made it sound particularly wonderful[2]
and I wondered why it never made it in the real world, given its C
roots and the ubiquity of that language.

I stopped wondering a while back, because it became apparent that I'm
more of a sysadmin type person, and for me programming comes some
distance behind.
