Hi Jon,

I'd recommend taking a look at a utility called MHDD .  It's available 
online...  Google "MHDD"

It is also included on the useful "Parted Magic" boot CD image available 
here: http://partedmagic.com/doku.php?id=downloads

Obviously, as this is a boot CD option, it won't help you do any testing 
while the server is running normally.
