"bastard... -n 1 a person born of parents not married to each other. 2
sl. a an unpleasant or despicable person. b a person of a specified kind
(poor bastard; rotten bastard; lucky bastard) 3 sl. a difficult or
awkward thing, undertaking, etc. -adj. 1 born of parents not married to
each other; illegitimate. 2 (of things): a unauthorized (sic),
counterfeit. b hybrid."

The use of the word bastard, for a person, would have been
inappropriate, as the legitimacy of a person is usually not taken into
account, in referring to the person as a bastard, and I regard the use
of the slang version of bastard, as a bastardisation ("bastardize... 1
declare (a person ) illegitimate. 2 corrupt, debase. bastardization").

As the english language is sufficiently bastardised, by others, I prefer
to avoid perpetuating the bastardisation, and, thus, I used the term
"basket", in reference to humans (their legitimacy may be probably
sufficiently questionable, anyway... :), and, many are basket-cases...
), but, the use of the word bastard, regarding the incorrect Latin
translation of the proverb, was the correct usage, as I believe, in the
absence of advice to the contrary, from a Latin Master, that the "Nil
Desperandum Illegitimos Carborundum", as cited in my other email about
this, correcting my error, is not the correct literal translation of the
proverb "Don't let the bastards grind you down".

Be careful for what you ask, for you may get it...

> Uh, I heard it as "Nil Illegitimus Carborundum".

See the above, and, my other email, with the correction.

That's easy; the "three little maids from school"...
"Three little maids from school are we,
 Fresh from a ladies' semenary...
Life's a joke that's just begun..."
