(since you are compiling from the source files). So, you will need to
install developer packages (e.g. in Debian, they are named with -dev on
the end). Commonly, the -dev packages contain headers and libraries for
static linking (these can end up taking several megs of disk space).

libqt3-mt-dev? (though I have no idea what "QT-1.3" specifically refers
to'cos I don't use QT myself.)
