How's this for backlight control Boot with Legacy BIOS emulation and backlight is 100%. Boot with EFI and backlight is ~60% and just about right. No adjustment available other than those two settings. With 2 separate installs of grub2 you can actually manage this switch. I love Apple hardware, but damn they make life hard sometimes.
