[plug] Getting a Vodaphone Huawei dongle working

Gottit.

Looked in the sakis3g script and asked for the connection details and
found the place to connect to is vfinternet.com.au not live.vodafone.com
or any of the others. So I shelved my plans to nuke network manager from
orbit temporarily and tried that. After a bit of irritation asking me
for passwords to open kwallet and such it connected .....

Thanks for your help and patience, Bob. I appreciate it.

+AD4 I have not done this myself, so ymmv

+AD4 +AD4 How do I get Evolution to disregard NM?

+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 Thanks for the thoughts - I managed to get it going via the sakis3g

+AD4 +AD4 +AD4
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 Everything except evolution works .... Evolution seems to look to
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 Network Manager to see whether it is online or not ... and since sakis3g
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 doesn't bother to talk to NM and since NM says +ACI-NIH+ACI (not invented
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 here), it shows no connections.
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 ergo - Evolution is offline, while Firefox merrily downloads all sorts
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 of things and APT updates my system with MB and MB of data - but nooooo
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 - we're offline.
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 If I didn't dislike Thunderturd so much, I'd think of using it ....
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 Dunno what it would do in similar circumstances ....

+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 +AD4 I'm sure you can get this device working, but one alternative is to
+AD4 +AD4 +AD4 +AD4 trade in for a wifi device, should be +ACQ-40 at Dick Smith or other phone
