Hi Plug,

I am indeed also worried about this trend. One consideration I want to add is the lack of flash support. Both my kids use a number of websites which require flash. Some of which may have natives apps for iOS available though. 

Fortunately these devices are not prescribed just yet and as parents we still have options available to us. Maybe take this up with your kids school and P&C. Most likely they not even aware of all the great options available to them.
