Hi Ian,

Look forward to meeting. King's Park is an excellent family picnic spot,
adjacent to the CBD.

The domestic beaches will also be good value; any of them really.

If you want a remote outback experience I recommend Wooleen
Station<http://www.wooleen.com.au>,
about 8 hrs' drive from Perth. Unbelievably  different to the UK;
kangaroos, emus, distinctive landscape, eco-tourism, hearty food and
passionate young hosts.
