[plug] Telstra Mobile Broadband problem

Hi,

I have a Telstra Elite Pre-paid Mobile Broadband dongle.
My wife's netbook, using Ubuntu 12.04 can use it, but mine, with Ubuntu 
13.04 cannot.

A minute or so after plugging in the dongle on the 12.04 system "Telstra 
default" appears in the connection menu and can be selected.  Another 
entry allowing for the creation of a new account appears as well.

When I plug it into the 13.04 system only the new account entry appears.

As far as I know I did nothing to the 12.04 system that would make a 
difference.

Any ideas regarding what's missing?
