[plug] Deduplication

Has there been a PLUG talk on this topic, or some recommended reading I can
look at? I don't recall seeing anything on this topic during #LCA2014, but
I may have missed it.

It appears to my initial google-fu that there is lots going on, but very
little of it seems to be ready for prime-time and I really don't want to
start experimenting with this in a production environment.

So far I've found btrfs, which Facebook appears to be trialling, but it's
not considered stable. ZFS appears to be implemented as a DKMS because of
licencing conflicts, requiring a re-compile every time you update the
kernel, lessfs as a Fuse module, but it seems unstable with countless crash
reports.

I'm running various versions of Ubuntu under VMware Fusion 4.x (OS X
10.6.8) and would love to have some disk space back ;-)
