That doesn't sound good! Unfortunately even with a NAS + RAID it's
important to backup you data.

I'm not sure what the underlying stuff of the promise NAS' are, but it's
generally some kind of linux/mdadm kind of arrangement.

There are a couple of Synology guides you could look at and try:



DRM 'manages access' in the same way that jail 'manages freedom.'

# cat /dev/mem | strings | grep -i cats
