Hi Alex,

Fail2ban is likely your best bet. Lots of modules around for it.

It's a fairly common problem - do you absolutely need it open to the world? VPN is your next step up.

Cheers

Over the past couple of weeks I have notices a large number of unsuccessful logging attempt from all over the world. I started putting a script together to collect the IP addresses and block them on IPTABLES. While this may not be the best approach it doesn’t worry me too much if some extra IPs are blocked.

Do any of you know and can recommend some software solution which does this. Basically monitor the application logs and update the IPTable rules accordingly ?

Thanks

Alex
