[plug] Dead Ubuntu

Hi all,

In November my desktop computer running Ubuntu 14.04 (I think) suggested 
that I upgrade.

I left it doing it's thing over night and it failed to upgrade.

When rebooted it comes up with a message

end Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 
unknown-block(0,0)

I have absolutely no idea how to get it going

I did download ubuntu-20.10-desktop-amd64(1) onto a usb and tried to 
install or boot the computer from it but no results there either.

Hope some one can head me in the right direction even if is just to 
recommend somewhere to take it
