There will be opportunities to look at our AV system, and to investigate all the features of BigBlueButton. PLUG in the Pub moves from its usual last Monday to Thursday 23rd September at the Pirate Bar in Mt Hawthorn. https://www.plug.org.au/events/ Margaret PLUG Secretary From msrwood at gmail.com Sun Sep 19 10:03:52 2021 From: msrwood at gmail.com (M S R Wood) Date: Sun, 19 Sep 2021 10:03:52 +0800 Subject: [plug] Micorphone problem on Pi 4 Message-ID: I have a headset attached to a USB sound card dongle. When this is connected to my Pi 3B it works perfectly. However on my Pi 4 the microphone does not work. It is detected by an assortment of websites but sound is not passed through. The Pi 3B uses the default Pi operating system. The Pi 4 uses the Lite version to which I have added Xfce and various applications. I'm wondering if I need to install some specific software to make the microphone work properly. Any suggestions? If you are using pulseaudio installed after the OS, look into setting it up, the defaults may either be muted, or your device is only partially set up. If you go to "Sound settings" under the xfce sound icon and choose "Configuration" then you should be able to change the "Profile" to the USB sound card instead of the built-in RPi one.
