Hi Locky,
Just to clarify, my connection is NOT an NBN connection. It's an ISP
point-to-point fixed wireless.
Thank you for the link. It has a massive list of providers which is
excellent. Unfortunately, it appears to only show NBN connections. My
experience with NBN Co has not been great and I've avoided using or
recommending them. To be specific, I've found myself being over promised by
the RSP who then escalated my issues to NBN Co who then refused to deal
with the issue since my connection was "within spec." - ie. faster than
dial-up.
Happy to hear positive experiences from others, but I note that I'm using
this in a business context and support and responsiveness to issues are key
deciders. Since I work from home, I'm also needing to use it for domestic
duties after hours, which often leaves me on a residential plan which
appears to perform well during the day and suffers less degradation than a
business plan after hours, since many business plans I've seen throttle
down after hours - which is when my backups run as well as the typical
household streaming duties.
As for the speeds, it appears that my ISP just unilaterally switched me to
a lower tier and currently appears to want to get away with this. I see a
conversation with the TIO in my future...
