Our cheap one doesn't. The more expensive ones map out rooms as they go, so that they can use the data to make sure they cover all spots in their run. There have been comments for ages about how vulnerable that sort of thing must be. Either attackers or the manufacturer themselves get data about my house, how wonderful.
More broadly, we stopped talking about IoT as being ridiculously insecure. I have no trust that that is because security improved. So why did we stop talking about it? A guess: For nerds and other people who hold the thoughts of safety in their minds, we just figure all such things are unsafe and act accordingly. For everyone else, oh well come take my data, can't fight it etc.
