<FONT face=Arial size=1>Re: Looking for Small Business Accounting
package for linux</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>> Now, this could be say SCO
based, or Java.. (Preferably native linux of</FONT> <BR><FONT
color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>> course).. As long as I can run it
on linux.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>Don't know of any of the top of
my head.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>> (My only other option at
this stage is to run MYOB under wabi/wine. BLEAH)</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>It almost works under wine
:)</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>> Basically.. what I need
feature wise is what is in MYOB with payroll and</FONT> <BR><FONT
color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>> inventory.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>Inventory would be a hard
one.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>> I know there are some
accounting packages around, especially US ones.. but</FONT> <BR><FONT
color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>> I am worried that they will be too
large and complex for a Small business,</FONT> <BR><FONT color=#000000
face=Arial size=2>> or not have the required features especially
Australian specific things.</FONT> <BR><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial
size=2>></FONT> <BR><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>>
(Especially relating to tax and payroll issues)</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>I think GnuCash holds lots of
promise on this role. Looking at what MYOB does</FONT> <BR><FONT
color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>it shouldn't be too difficult to
simulate almost all of that functionality.</FONT> <BR><FONT
color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>If they are always reminded about
internationalisation then things could be</FONT> <BR><FONT color=#000000
face=Arial size=2>improved.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial size=2>Anyway, sorry I can't help, but
have a close look at GnuCash and egg the </FONT><BR><FONT color=#000000
