Q. How to set hard drive settings for boot in Debian?<br><br>
I believe I want something like ...<br><br>

-c3 -u1 -k1 -m16 /dev/hda<br>
<x-tab> </x-tab>hdparm -c3
-u1 -k1 -m16 /dev/hdb<br><br>
</i>to be placed in a file somewhere (Redhat uses /etc/rc.d/rc.local I
believe...) for boot.<br><br>
Also, are there any other tweaks for speed I am missing??<br><br>
I'm using two new WD 100ATA 7200rpm drives (40G is model 400JB and 120G
is model 1200JB)<br><br>
my figures for hdb are:<br><br>
<x-tab> </x-tab>buffer-cache
reads: 800Mb/sec<br>
<x-tab> </x-tab>buffered
disk reads: 5.22Mb/sec<br><br>
The second figure is not so good...<br><br>
