it's been a while since I've been near an AS400 but you should be able to build a job in the AS400 that essentially scripts a shutdown sequence (not a rapid process in my experience) .
I used to use a 5250 emulator to connect into it...
Hi All,

Semi off-topic, but does anyone have any info or can point me to some
on how to go about shutting down an as400 automatically.

I am using Nagios/NRPE to shutdown all the rest our our gear so
something along those lines would be awesome, but given the
flixibility of nagios I could really do it with anything [aside from
the fact that I have zero as400 knowledge].

Cheers,

Adam.
