Thanks all

sudo apt-get install linux-firmware

worked once for me. I did it, it downloaded a 20MB package and installed,
then I restarted and the wifi came up the that time. However after
shutting down then powering on again Im back to old issue. I repeated
the above without internet and it appeared to reinstall linux-firmware
but this time it does nothing on a restart.

/lib/firmware/iwlwifi-4965-2.ucode exists ok.

Anything else I can try?

On 21 February 2012 02:25, Jason Nicholls <jason@mindsocket.com.au> wrote:
