    Hi one & all,<br>

    I was recently given two IBM Thinkpad laptop computers they both<br>
    run Windows XP professional which I have been able to bring up<br>
    without any difficulty.<br>

    Both machines seem to be in good order & may not have been used<br>
    in quite some time.<br>
<br>
    It was hoped that I could run a linux operating system ie Debian<br>
    all my attempts so far to overwrite Windows has failed.<br>
<br>
    Any suggestions/help would be most welcome.<br>
