[plug] Newbie : Install Question

Just before I get installing SUSE 6.2 on my w2k machine, I have this config on my IDE devices :

Primary Master : 10gig HD running w2k standalone.
Primary Slave :   Zip 250 drive
Secondary Master : DVD drive
Secondary Slave :   6.4gig HD [caddy] that I wish to install Linux 

Is this a good[efficient ?] config as far as performance goes since the Linux HD is a on the
secondary slave channel. That wouldn't make it slower would it ?  

I'm ghosting my w2k pc now and backing up all revelant data just in case...
