[plug] Printer Setup.

G'day,

I am trying to setup my epson stylus 440. I have compiled the parport
modules and installed them. When I 'cat
/proc/sys/dev/parport/parport0/autoprobe' it returns
  CLASS:PRINTER;
  MODEL:Stylus COLOR 440;
  MANUFACTURER:EPSON;
  DESCRIPTION:EPSON Stylus COLOR 440;
  COMMAND SET:ESCPL2,BDC;

However whenever I send a job to the printer (using lp or pdq) I get an
error "/dev/lp0: No such device"

/dev/lp0 does exist with major number 6 minor number 0.

The printer was working until I installed this fresh copy of Debian so there
hasn't been any hardware changes.

Any suggestions ?
