First thing is first, why don't you check the serial ports were actually
_found_. Take a look in the system logs (probably /var/log/messages) for some
lines like:

	Mar 10 16:47:29 nikita kernel: Serial driver version 4.27 with no serial options enabled
	Mar 10 16:47:29 nikita kernel: ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
