Interesting! I tend to waggle them a bit to avoid using too much force when unplugging - probably not excessive but I hadn't thought about the contacts being affected.
Also, I had never clocked until now that all of the 'IEC' connectors are IEC 60320 whilst I have spent a few years working with 60309 and making sure we get the right ones (3 phase! 5 pin! 6h!) on gear we buy.
