The idea is that before the user boots into Linux they can analyse their hardware, recommend drivers, verify their USB, add software that they need, copy over their WIFI passwords etc. 

TL;DR. I am the grinch and I want to deprive my users of the joy of trying to download network drivers on a Linux box that is lacking Network drivers.

Where would you like Linux to go today? 

Personally I hoped that LSLsetup.exe would've fully supported some version of Windows newer than '95 by today; but you have to start somewhere. 

So uh LSL still "needs work". But I optimistically bought 10 128GB USB 3.2 drives for $260 anyway: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/974603
