wireless

supplied router, but with it's wifi turned off it runs a lot
cooler

and is mostly uninvolved in internal traffic.

I'd second that. I have a pair of TP Link EAP265HD here and I love
them.

I'll 3rd it, I have used unifi for years. 2 APs in the house, 1 in
the workshop and one on the tv pole for outside access<br>
You can install an old controller and use the old versions, I have 2
maybe 3 older EOL APs
