I have an extremely cheap tripod, ones of similar quality can be had at
Officeworks for $15? Won't be very smooth, of course, but I'm inclined to
start with those and get the equipment plugged in and the software started.

Of course - if we're planning to _make_ mounting or packing systems
and need a few parts, no need to be stingy about that, that's some fun
parallel-project-ism. Nice to have something physical to ponder at this
coming Artifactory gathering.
