I haven't got time atm to go back through the list and reply to the
appropriate mails, but here's the long and short of where I'm at:

Camera: Even though we'd turned off demo functions, we were still in
demo mode the other night. I've found the setting (nested abt 10 deep
in an obscure menu item). I've now turned it off, and I can record to
tape for more than a couple of seconds. Not sure if that will have any
impact on the flickering we got. I can't see that it would, and have no
idea what to do about it. Could it have been lag in the camera sending
it to firewire? The network should have been more than fast enough. I
haven't had a look at the finished result yet but was the flickering
only on the picture in picture or when this camera was full screen?

Camera PC: I've asked about some small form factor boxes that will
still take a PCI-e card, and the best advice I've been given is to build
our own then take it to a system builder when we're ready to do a bulk
order. Not our preferred approach, but I've not found anything else
yet. Still looking.

Capture card: I'm now looking again (PS3 network back online!). Should
be something out there, but more research needed. Is USB3 fast enough?
The black magic intensity shuttle which does USB3 output, but the USB3
standard specifies rather short cables which doesn't really work for us.
They do have a PCI-e card (supposedly working with linux), but I'm yet
to see any costs or reports on it yet. I'll keep looking, and make some
calls tomorrow.

Tim
