I've just spoken to Chris at
http://camerapro.net.au/canon-hv40-camcorder-australian-stock-while-stock-last-p-162.html

Quote attached.

They have 3 left in stock - the model is EOL. He agreed about the
reasoning behind this - he says lots of media students still try and do
this, but he was alaso aware of the Blackmagic HDMI capture - though he
through it was very new (he said he first heard of this last weekend).

Everyone happy if I forward this to LotteryWest?

  James
