Luke and I have talked about this some more - he's still keen but no-one
else from Committee or AV has replied with authorisation or as a helper
and time is short. He will have some EOTW helpers on the day, but he
and I have done this before and it's really not that easy.
I think that it's against PLUG's interest to use its gear for a non-PLUG
event with no benefit, only the risk that we'll do a half-arsed last
minute job, as we've sometime pulled off and sometimes haven't. Clearly,
we need to put together a second kit to make this possible, as the
requests keep coming. If hardware gets lost or broken, EOTW will replace
it, of course, though it's unlikely to be possible before the upcoming
Eventstreamr presentation.
Are Committee members agreed that it's a bad idea to try to involve
ourselves in EOTW2015 at this stage? Why/why not?
Luke's hoping to do some software work on it tonight and that will be
the benefit, he's available for the next couple of nights. Setup and
documentation out of the box on the plugav1-2? station currently at
Leon's, with a working live running stream. I should be able to help
with that after 9pm tonight if you like, Luke - it's useful regardless.
Nick.
