I have been using a bash script i made up using the programpopclient
the script runs popclient twice and retrieves the mail from my 2 email
accounts.

Then i just run pine to read the mail downloaded.
i got popclient from sunsite ,or it may be standard on red hat
distributions.

the command line would be something like this
popclient -3 -all -k -v -o /var/spool/mail/root  your.isp.com.au -u
joebloggs -p "joes_passwd"
