Thanks for the suggestion but I can't seem to get X to work properly
with the S3V server. I seem to be reduced to one mode which renders
only half of an xterm at a very large size in a non-virtual screen.
On the other hand I have discovered why I lost mouse control in the
first place ... which I'll describe in an ensuing email.
