Hi guys, I didn't realize the silent drop policy for non-subscribed return addresses..hmmm, cause I have a home acct that I use a lot: thompsons-tamara at worldnet.att.net. But I can access my 'GroupWise' thompson at gate.sunquest.com acct via the web from home.

Hey, in case I never told you all, you are the best group of Linuxer's I've found. And I greatly appreciate the list and all the advice and fun you all provide.

I say that, cause I recently subscribed to a more local 'linux' group, based here in Tucson, Arizona.
            tfug at azstarnet.com
Out of the ~30 posts I've seen so far, they talk about linux almost never. It's a caliber of quality thing I'm noticing: tfug doesn't compare to the intellect on plug.

Just thought I'd mention it cause I don't usually say 'thank you' enough on the list, I er, don't like to waste bandwidth. <smile>

Based on the plug caliber of people and information, if I can't find a job over there in the next year, I'm going to buy a big Cessna and see if I can fly there on my own. <grins>

sincerely,
Tamara

Gary Allpike manages the list. I think the problem you might be having
is that after the spamming incident, Gary configured the list so that
any email not sent from an address subscribed to the list will be
silently dropped. Personally, I don't think this really helps since
anyone who wants to spam the list can just forge the From address to be
someone who is subscribed and this doesn't make it any easier/harder to
identify the culprit.

Regards,

Christian.

I'm not trying to give users what they want, I'm trying to give them
freedom, which they can then accept or reject. If people don't want
freedom, they may be out of luck with me, but I won't allow them to
define for me what is right, what is worth spending my life for.
