Because you dont filter duplicate messages. (Its common enough :)
Add the following to your .procmailrc:

	#----------
	# Discard duplicate messages
	:0 Wh: msgid.lock
	| formail -D 8192 msgid.cache

Procmail is great for filtering spam, separating mailing list messages,
making e-mail backups, forwarding selectively, etc.
