Negotiations with UniGames (traditional Sunday users of the Loft) are
complete; all other arrangements are complete - except that if someone
has a long extension cord that they can bring, we might set up some
tables for 21" monitor owners on the ground floor.
The basic arrangements are:
* Starts this SUNDAY 22 AUGUST at 1400 (2 PM)
* Located at and around the University Computer Club, Cameron Hall,
University of Western Australia, Hackett Drive, Crawley (see map in
directions on website at http://plug.linux.org.au).
* BYOC and any portable mains-power (boards and cords) and/or networking
gear (UTP/BNC cable, hubs, switches, terminators, tees etc)
* A folding table or two might be handy, if you have one
* Drinks and snacks are available from the UCC (nice prices, too)
* Communal Pizza will probably be arranged at about 1800 (6PM); there
are reasonably good local shopping and fast food resources (Chinese and
other)
* Extra points for snappy/interesting/powerful gaming hardware
* Copies of TurboLinux will be handed out on the day
* People will be available to help you install and/or answer your
questions (-: but sometimes with raucious laughter :-)
* The event is considered "evangelistic" and "OS-ecumenical" so feel
free to bring Windows, DOS, CP/M, STOP^H^H^H^HTOPS-10, RSX, VMS,
AmigaDOS or whatever else takes your fancy as a gaming platform - please
no WinNukes etc on the day other than by arrangement with the nukee
* Email Matt Kemner (zombie at networx.net.au) NOW if you would like
specific gaming (or other) software on the day, so he can download it
for you beforehand (since there will be no outside access on the day).
