Me thinks that someone at Microsoft has read 1984, and thought it
sounded like  good idea!!  How's this for double-think, self
contradiction and hypocricy:

"Microsoft says any concern over the patent is misguided, since the
company only uses its patents as a defensive mechanism. The idea is
simply to use patents as needed to protect against others who might
wrest control over open standards using their own proprietary
technologies. "

Yair... like someone who has the nerve to use something other than
M$ Windows perhaps???
