Hi Ian,

I have done a lot of reading about sendmail and I now know that the files
it uses are spelt out in sendmail.cf. The RH config is certainly
different from Debians, so I cannot use RH methods.

The good news is that I *think* I have fixed it. I changed the entry in
sendmail.cw from "192.168.5.5" to "comoshs.wa.edu.au" and I no longer get
the "relaying denied" message. I won't know until Monday morning just how
well it all works.

I must not have been looking in the right place for documentation, as the
only reference to sendmail.cw is *in* sendmail.cf. But as long as it
works, I'm happy. Another hour and I was going to swap to exim.

Thanks to all who replied.
Lindsay
